WOA VIEWER INSTRUCTIONS:

Just pick the data set you want to see; pick the time (annual, seasonal, or monthly); pick the color table; adjust the color on the ocean surface current (optional) and push the "New Map" button.

Once the map has appeared you can "mouse" over the windows to see the data values.

DRAG the mouse-down over the oceans to create a VERTICAL SLICE through them. This data shows up on the lower data window. You can do as many slices as you want.

To create another map that uses different data, a different time, or a different color table, simply select these and push "New Map".

Building the new WOA Viewer began with interactions our team had with 20 teachers at the Summer ESIP Federation meetings in Santa Barbara. We gathered a list of top feature requests and built in the most desired new features into this version.
Many thanks to the WOA folks at NOAA’s NODC for this great data!

Thanks also to ITTvis for their IDL-for-education license!
