What should DO definitely not do? What should it let others handle?

We should not do fish porn (sorry Connie), such as mermaids, aquatic mammals etc. We (as the DO architects) don’t have to produce content, and shouldn’t reinvent content – DO users/members should be the content creators (So, the bottom line is that DO should not organize around the production of content). DO should not ignore branding. DO itself should not take on advocacy positions, but its members can have positions (which we shouldn't censor). Do not exclude content that disagrees with the stated DO aims (which is ocean health). DO should not come up with a legislative agenda. Do not store content on DO dedicated server, take advantage of exisiting archive sites. Don't take anything/donation that doesn't have 10% administrative support along with it. Do not pay for content. Do not have a single general membership - have graduated/tiered memberships.
